Duc Dang, incompetent Toshiba manager
Duc Dang, incompetent Toshiba manager, and why
I paid about $1500 for a Toshiba A505 laptop in October of 2010, and have had constant problems with it, including the fact that its full of intrusive "upsells" to try to make you buy more Toshiba crappy software.
I have a problem now (with a 2 month old computer) that the speakers won't play loud and the microphone doesn't work at all.
Here are my results with Toshiba Customer Service:
- called on 11/17, spend 30 minutes on the phone with someone who barely spoke English, telling me to reboot, reinstall drivers, etc
- they say they'll escalate it can call me back, and give me the reference number 101117-000919
- they never call back
- I call back a week later and they say they can't find the reference number, and give me the list of known reasons why that happens (since it must happen a lot)
- I speak with 2 people who barely speak English, and they give me a new reference number, 101124-001030, and say they'll call me back, but I'll probably have to send my computer back in for repair TWO MONTHS after I bought it.
- its been 11 days - no call back
Newest update (December of 2010)
- machine dies for no reason and has to be rebooted
- machine doesn't reboot the first time, often taking 4-5 times
- speakers don't work at all now
Duc Dang, the name
